Three Tips to Prevent You from Splurging Money 💸
How to prevent yourself from blowing through your entire paycheck.
When payday comes around, your first tendency is to splurge your hard-earned money.
I mean, it makes sense. You've worked hard, you want to reward yourself.
However, rewarding yourself and splurging your money are two completely different things. Here are a few tips on how to prevent yourself from blowing through your entire paycheck within a few days of getting it.
1. Don't Save your Credit Card Number 💳
With the latest technologies available, it's never been easier to quickly check out and autofill your credit card information on multiple shopping websites. This is a huge mistake. Don't save your credit card information on your desktop or mobile. The faster you can checkout, the easier it will be for you to make impulse purchases!
2. Create a Dead List 💀
Don't feel guilty. Learning self-discipline when it comes to your personal finances is tough! Create a Dead List, which is a list of everything that you want to buy. Prioritize that list to help you understand what you want vs. what you reallllllly want. Forbid yourself from buying the last item on your list.
(As you get better at this, forbid yourself from buying the last two items.. and so on.)
3. Use Technology to Your Advantage 📲
You should leverage technology to your advantage. If you don't have a digital footprint of where you're spending your money and how much you're spending, you won't have a clue on where your money is going! You can use Chromabill to track all your expenses. Make sure you set enough money aside for all your bills!
